Teeth Whitening
Teeth become discoloured for many different reasons. This can be Tea, coffee and wine which all contain natural dyes which can darken them. Smoking tobacco can yellow them. Some medications can cause them to fade in colour to grey. Blood vessel or Nerve damage can also darken them. Decay, fillings and tartar can discolour them. Or just the natural process of aging can cause them to lose their shine. Teeth whitening is simple process and involves minimal discomfort.
All of the above can be whitened with our home teeth whitening which uses hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide that neutralise the stains on your tooth enamel.
Before we can start your home whitening Dr Marios Kakos will assess whether your teeth are dentally fit, if all is good he will take some impressions of your teeth to create trays that are bespoke to you.
Once these custom made trays are ready, you will come along for a second appointment usually 7-10 days later.
At this appointment we will check the fit of the trays and advise you how to use both the trays and the whitening gel.
Results are usually achieved within seven to ten days, but the exact duration of your treatment will depend on the degree of lightening required. Dr Marios Kakos will discuss your desired shade with you, and advise how long your treatment will take to achieve this result.
You may notice some sensitivity after having this treatment. This is common and is usually not a concern, but should this sensitivity continue or become painful, please contact us.
